STEPS TO EASILY SET INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT TO PRIVATE

Instagram app on Mobile Phone

1. Open your Instagram app, from the home screen tap on your profile picture from the bottom right corner.

2. This will open your Instagram profile, here tap on the THREE LINES icon on top of the screen.

3. An extended menu bar slides in from the right, tap on SETTINGS from the bottom.

4. Now tap on the PRIVACY option with a lock icon beside it.

5. Tap under the ACCOUNT PRIVACY toggle on the PRIVATE ACCOUNT slider by tapping on it.

6. When prompted if you wish to change to a Private account tap on SWITCH TO PRIVATE.

Instagram on Computer

1. Open a web browser on the computer and go to www.instagram.com.

2. Login to your Instagram account and mouse over to the top right corner and click on your profile picture.

3. From the drop-down menu bar select the SETTINGS option by clicking on it.

4. Now select the PRIVACY AND SECURITY option from the left menu bar of the screen.

5. Here under the ACCOUNT PRIVACY, checkmark the box beside PRIVATE ACCOUNT to change your account to private.

6. When prompted to confirm click on SWITCH TO PRIVATE.

Note: Business accounts on Instagram account can’t be changed to a private account, in such cases you must first change the type of the account from business to normal and then you may change your Public account to a Private Instagram account
